you are awesome,  you made my dream come true

This is a really cool game that I wish nintendo would actually make. Loved it to bits! Though, there is a bug where if a controller is plugged in, the game would freak out with the camera constantly up close and spinning in circles, and it's like this until i quit and restart the game with the controller unplugged.

PLEASE make this available for mac! I know it's not easy, but it would be very appreciated

thank you so much for making this game, it's made me so unbelievably happy to be able to explore this place that has always been a safe space for me haha.

I'm not sure if you're interested in working any further on this, but if you are, I'd love to suggest a way to use a bicycle. Aside from the airplane one, it was my favorite minigame, and it would make it easier to get around such a large map. Additionally, it would be nice to see other miis in the plaza or standing around the tourist attractions like in the original game. Also, it's trivial, but the pond duckies by the castle! :3

Again, thank you so much for doing this. It's really so amazing to be able to experience a childhood dream come true ^_^

I love this so much! Do you have a Patreon or buy me a coffee? It's a privilege that this is free, but I know you must have put a TON of hours into this and I want to pay you for your labor!!

Additionally, I see a lot of people commenting recommendations for updates, would you consider onboarding people to help? I'd work for free of course, I'm just really excited and passionate about this project!! I'm no where near your skill level, but I'm sure I can help with something, and I'm a quick learner.

I love love love this project, please let me know how I can support it!

My website is Pink Lemon Trousers and you can email me at my business email: beth.gardner@pinklemontrousers.com

Hey! You could add some ways of traveling around the island. There are already ways to travel, but make the useful. For example, yatches, jet ski, cars, bikes, planes.  Also, you could add the interior of the bowling saloon, and open the basketball court.

Thanks for the experience, makes me relive my childhood memories!

can you please please please add island fly over

Its so NOSTALGIC OMG :')

I have played this and I will say it is very fun! And I don't usually gravitate towards "empty world free roam" games! Really great job!

However, I have noticed a few "technical issues" and have a few suggestions for the game, should you continue to work on it.

(This is just how I would customize the current state of the game for myself and is in no way trying to put you down or criticize you or the game.)

In the order that I have come across each "issue":

1. Issue/Suggestion- Option for remapping game controllers. (With my Logitech G F310 gamepad I can't look around while sprinting and the B button pauses the game. Also, there is no button to dive with the gamepad. I tried using a third-party remapping software and it didn't do anything.)

2. Issue- The first-person camera and third-person camera can face different directions. (e.g. First-person can face south while third-person faces north causing character to turn around when you change the view and are moving forward.) Probably what I would do about this is make it so that when entering first-person mode the third-person camera matches the first-person camera angle relative to the character. I haven't used Unity so I don't know how it would work in there, but I understand the logic needed to do this. (EDIT 1 MONTH LATER: I just realized it's probably not that simple. I also found the FAQ in the game files since. Is it possible to make Cinemachine cameras children of each other? If so could it work to make the 3rd-person a child of the 1st-person and then rotate the 1st-person whether 3rd-person is active or not? Or something like that?)

3. Suggestion- Maybe a way to swim faster under water.

4. Suggestion- Also the whales are kinda slow compared to the original so I would speed them up a bit.

Like many others I would also like to see vehicles, custom Miis, NPCs and such.

Again, this is just what I PERSONALLY would change about the current state of the game.

I won't say "Nintendo needs to" but I do think it would be cool if they offered to license this game making it an official Wuhu Island free-roam.

Once more, really great job! Keep up the good work! :)

P.S. I just realized this has been updated 5 DAYS AGO! I will try the new version and say which of my "issues" still stand. :)

I have tested and yes, my original comment still stands. I also noticed you can't unpause with the pause button on the gamepad, so that's something else I would change.

I'm not trying to sound pushy and I am not trying to take over your game. These are just some things I noticed and thought I'd bring them to your attention.

Again, keep up the good work. :)

I'm running on linux with lutris and the game refuses to be 16.9 aspect ratio. It's stuck in a box and the UI is overlapping so it has to be on the game's side. I tried everything any help?

I finally was able to get it widescreen on my steam deck by starting it with these steam launch options

-screen-width 1280 -screen-height 800

You can adjust this to your resolution, not sure about something similar in lutris.

How are you playing it on steam deck without lutris?

You can add games and programs for Windows to the steam deck in Steam through the menu bar at the top (in desktop mode). In "Games" click "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library..." and then select this exe. After it creates the game, you go into the properties for it and go to the compatibility tab. You should be able to set it to use the newest version of Proton (9 something) and after that it should load!

While you're still in the properties, you'll need to put this into launch options to get widescreen just for this specific game, haven't needed this otherwise:

-screen-width 1280 -screen-height 800

I have been adding random Windows programs and games this way and they work pretty well. Also lets you access it from the main steam deck menus and use the layouts which is nice.

There's gotta be a way for me to import my own Miis into this game. Even if I haven't downloaded the game yet.
